About this website
This website is operated under the DAVENS name. DAVENS is a mechanical building engineering practice based in the South West of England. This website describes our services and engineering approach. Contact us at enquiries@davens.co.uk with questions about the website or these terms.
These terms relate to use of the website. They are not a consultancy appointment, quotation, design warranty or agreement to carry out work. A description of a service does not confirm its suitability or availability for your particular project.
Enquiries and appointments
Contacting us, receiving an acknowledgement or discussing a project does not by itself create an appointment. Before any services begin, the parties must agree the contracting identity, scope, deliverables, responsibilities, fees, programme and appointment terms in writing.
If you engage us as a consumer, applicable statutory rights, including any pre-contract information and cancellation rights, will be addressed in the appointment process. Nothing on this website removes those rights. No work is purchased and no payments are taken through this website.
Engineering information and surveys
Articles, diagrams and service descriptions provide general information. They are not project-specific advice, construction information, regulatory approval or certification. The ventilation illustration is a simplified conceptual schematic. Design and installation decisions require suitable project information and competent professional assessment.
Measured surveys and visual roof inspections are limited by the agreed scope, safe access, visibility and conditions at the time. They do not automatically establish structural adequacy, identify concealed defects or confirm compliance. Drone inspections depend on lawful and safe flight conditions. The scope, exclusions and accuracy of any actual survey will be agreed for that appointment.
Descriptions of professional experience refer to the individual's background. They do not imply that previous employers or their clients endorse DAVENS, or that their projects were carried out by DAVENS.
Using this website and its material
You may browse the website and print or save reasonable extracts for your own reference or internal project discussions, keeping any authorship or copyright notices. Rights in the website content belong to DAVENS, its operator or the relevant licensors. Third-party names and trade marks belong to their owners.
You must not present website material as your own work, misrepresent it as an issued engineering deliverable, imply an endorsement or commercially reproduce substantial content without permission, except where the law allows it.
Do not misuse the website, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, bypass security controls or submit unlawful material. Only send information that you are entitled to share. Initial enquiries should contain enough context to discuss the work without unnecessary personal or confidential information; arrangements for sensitive documents can be agreed separately.
Availability and external links
We take reasonable care with website content but it may contain errors or become out of date. Please contact us about anything that appears inaccurate. We may update or temporarily suspend the website for maintenance, security or other operational reasons and cannot promise uninterrupted access.
Links to LinkedIn, Instagram, guidance and other external websites are provided for convenience. Those services are operated separately and their content, availability and privacy practices are outside our control. A link does not amount to an endorsement of everything on the linked service.
Responsibility and your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing restricts your statutory consumer rights.
Website information cannot replace advice commissioned for your circumstances. Responsibility for professional services, including any lawful and reasonable limits, is addressed in the separate appointment. These website terms do not change an existing project agreement.
Privacy
Our privacy notice explains what personal information this website collects, why it is used and how to exercise your rights. Visiting the website or making an enquiry is not consent to receive marketing.
Concerns, applicable law and updates
Please email enquiries@davens.co.uk if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales may hear disputes; this does not remove any mandatory consumer protection or right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction where applicable.
We may revise these website terms to reflect changes to our services or website. The revision date appears above. Changes do not retrospectively alter separately agreed appointments or remove rights that have already arisen.
